A Time for Change

Guy Standing in Wall

This has nothing to do with the post

This place needs some work.

The look and feel of the blog is lacking. Pictures, logos, links, all these things are missing from my poor little blog.

Basically, I need to reorganize.

Changes are coming. After one month I realize I put forward a version of myself that is lacking. In trying to show you how to live the life of your dreams I held back a part of me I thought you wouldn’t like. This is not to say I disbelieve anything I have written, but I have better stuff in me and you deserve to see it.

Expect a few changes over the next month: a new name, a better focus, and more of my personality. You come here for me; that is who I should be.

I am a work in progress. So is this blog. So are you. When we fall, we must fall forward.

What about you? What part of yourself are you holding back? Let me know in the comments.

Awesome! May I offer some suggestions?

–I think you need to create a better header section for your site.

–You have a great site tagline, but it is only seen in the tab of a browser. Make sure you can have it displayed on the site.

–Make important things (RSS,etc…) stand out more… It really helps if these things are bigger and really pop out.

You are doing a great job on your blog…just thought that I would give some suggestions because it really helps me when others give suggestions…

Thanks Brandon! I really appreciate the input. Those are areas I was thinking through and you have given me that much more reason to focus there!

I have specifically been thinking a lot about the Header and various tag lines (I have a few on paper that I want to incorporate into the site).

    Any other suggestions?

Well, my site tagline is “Amplifying God’s Kingdom!”. I picked it because it explained the whole purpose of the site (to point people to Jesus) and the amplify part was another word for making God’s kingdom bigger but in a guitarish form…)

I would pick something that basically fits your purpose for starting the site. Also– it would be cool to have a blogroll. That is something I have started on mine (but in the links page). It really helps generate traffic to my site and others as well as helping my readers out with some great sites.

I’d be happy to give you any more suggestions to! Also– I put out a survey on my site to… I’m getting a lot of people to take it so that I can know what to do differently on it.

Exciting. I’ll be on the lookout for the changes!

I may email you and ask you a few questions about your site. I like the way you edited some of your layout. Is that cool?

Firstly, I am also looking forward to the new and improved ALEX SPEAKS. Be creative. Be daring. Be you. Or not. Your call.

    You asked:
“What about you? What part of yourself are you holding back? Let me know in the comments.”

I hold nothing back. Nothing. My blog is on fire, my words can cut like razors, and I have been scaring people off. It has been worth every word.

However, I know that a blog, any blog, is not really real. It is like Neo was told in The Matrix: “It is how we see ourselves.”

I still visit other blogs, of course. My hypocrisy knows no bounds, apparently.

    Rock on, Alex!

haha, I will certainly heed your advice.

and fyi, I have been reading your blog posts. No comments yet (what I would have said has already been said on the most recent post!)

But I am very interested in what you have to say. I can only imagine that we will have areas of strong agreement, and a few of friendly disagreement. lol

      • Donald Borsch Jr February 1, 2011 at 8:23 PM #

I never disagree “friendly”, Alex. If you cross me, I shall speak poorly of you to everyone I know and mock you incessantly behind your back.

        Kidding, kidding.…or am I? LOL!

Of course we will disagree. I fully expect this. The only person I never disagree with is Jesus and..wait. No. That’s not true. I have disagreed with even Him. But I lost. Every time. It’s that whole pesky nuisance that is His Sovereignty. It trumps me every time. :)

I’m so glad you didn’t “accept Jesus” but realize that He chose you. Amazing Grace, indeed. You and I know why that song is so true. And why did He choose you? Only He knows. And there are some things about Him that we just won’t figure out this side of Heaven. Salvation is one of them.
