A Quick Update

I was planning on having a guest post for today, but that fell through a little bit (not on the fault of the poster, it was all me). So instead, he’s a bit of an update on what’s going on.

Grandma’s House is in that quiet stage where nothing is happening. At this point, we’re just waiting for the closing which will happen near the end of April. Until then, there are a few things the buyer has asked for, but nothing substantial. This seems to be going more smoothly than our previous sell and I can’t imagine anything coming up. If it does, I’ll let you know.

The blog hasn’t gotten a lot of attention from me lately. It’s because I’ve taken a step back from writing recently while I try to figure out what’s next. I thought two posts a week would be easy (honestly, they are), but with my attention other places it’s been more difficult than normal to come up with topics.

Besides that, not a lot has been going on. I’ve scrapped a few things that were “in development” because I don’t think the long-term payout is going to be worth it. In addition, I’ve started seeing a career coach who is helping me figure out what I should do next with my life. He’s been asking some hard questions and giving me homework to do. It’s a lot harder than I imagined. I sorta thought I’d sit down with him, tell him my story, and in an hour he’d give me advice on three or four jobs I should apply at. Boy was I wrong!

God Bless,
–Alex

Something New?

I’m thinking about making some changes to my life and to the blog.

In life, we have to change. If something new isn’t pouring in, water grows stagnant.

I’m not sure what changes need to be made, but as I look around I am coming to grips with the reality that I am on the cusp of some big changes and I need to prepare for them.

What does this mean for the blog? At the moment, almost nothing. Updates will continue as normal, but I may widen the scope of EntrepreLife — or I may leave it exactly as it is.

Whatever happens, I just wanted to give you a quick update on what’s going on in my mind. There is a lot buzzing around up there.

Guest On Debt Free Living Podcast

Erase Debt

Erase Debt

Getting out of debt was one of the best decisions I ever made. It relieved mountains of stress, made the first year of my marriage infinitely easier, and has made this website possible.

John White at JW Financial Coaching heard I was enjoying the debt-free side of the life and asked me to be a guest on his Debt Free Living Podcast.

We talked about how I got out of debt, how being debt free has affected my marriage, what advice I would give to someone who wants to get their finances under control, and I told a little bit of my financial story.

It was a lot of fun and has a lot packed into 30 minutes.

Listen to it by clicking here and let me know what you thought. I haven’t been on many podcasts, so comments, encouragements, and advice are appreciated.

How did I do?

Sick Day

Normally, Monday is the day I do most of my writing, but I got pretty sick Sunday night and this is the only thing I’ve written. I’m already feeling a bit better so I plan to be back up by the time this goes live. Expect Today’s post tomorrow.

Spoiler alert: There’s some awesome stuff happening with selling grandma’s house!

God Bless,
–Alex

A Quick Announcement

A Stress Free Christmas Cover

A Stress Free Christmas Cover

If you haven’t purchased A Stress Free Christmas yet, now is the time.

Most people don’t know that there are monthly cost associated with selling things online. PayPal, eJunkie, and other sites charge monthly fees to keep e-books available to the public.

My plan was to do a quick push at the end of January and then pull A Stress Free Christmas until the holidays got closer. Unfortuantely, I lost track of time last week and let my subscriptions charge.

Oops.

But, that’s good news for you! Through February 21st, I’m offering A Stress Free Christmas for only $10 dollars! You will learn:

  • How to prepare for Christmas spending throughout the year
  • How marketers manipulate you into buying things you don’t want for people you don’t like.
  • How to plan for Christmas without debt or stress and still do all the things you love.

In addition, I’m still giving away free updates for life and 30-day e-mail support which I’m extending to last through December (when you might actually need the support).

On February 21st, A Stress Free Christmas will become unavailable. Don’t miss your last chance to get A Stress Free Christmas at the lowest price of the year. My mistake is your ticket to an easy holiday.

Welcome to EntrepreLife!

Welcome to Entreprelife.com!

After months of hard work, I am proud to launch the new and updated version of the website.

This has been something I have wanted to do for a long time. Re-branding is hard on a newer blog like mine, but there are huge advantages:

  • EntrepreLife better reflects the mission and values of the blog. With AlexSpeaks, you have to do research to figure out what it’s about.
  • I can brand consistently across facebook, twitter, and other social networks. AlexSpeaks is taken on most social networks; EntrepreLife is all mine.
  • I like the name EntrepreLife better than AlexSpeaks. It’s a personal thing, but still an advantage.

Updating Feeds and Announcements

With all domain changes, I have a new RSS and email update feeds. If you currently get updates to AlexSpeaks via RSS or Email, please re-subscribe by clicking either of the links below:

  • Email – get every update, in your inbox, when it posts.
  • RSS – Enjoy all your blog feeds in one place.

There is also a new Facebook page (that will see a lot more life than the last one) and a new Twitter name. If you were already a twitter follower then nothing has changed except the name which is now EntrepreLife instead of Alcon835. Keep that in mind for retweets and @ replies.

EntrepreLife Newsletter

In addition, I am excited to launch the EntrepreLife newsletter!  Here are a few of the advantages for signing up for the EntrepreLife newsletter:

  • All Posts in One Place – Get all the week’s updates in one email every Friday. Less clutter in your inbox!
  • Unique Updates – Periodically, I will send special newsletter-only updates that won’t be posted anywhere else.
  • First to Know – Newsletter subscribers are the first to know about upcoming product launches.
  • Special Offers – Newsletter subscribers receive special bonuses, giveaways, and discounts that aren’t offered anywhere else.

You can sign up for the newsletter by clicking here.

A Stress-Free Christmas

My most exciting announcement is the upcoming launch of my first eBook: A Stress-Free Christmas.

Launching before the end of the month (an exact date coming soon), A Stress-Free Christmas will teach you:

  • How marketers trick you into spending more than you want.
  • Why Christmas becomes stressful, and how to overcome it.
  • A proven plan for doing everything you love during this season without overspending.

And the best part? Newsletter subscribers get a 50% discount on A Stress-Free Christmas when it launches. What are you waiting for? Sign-up now!

I Need Your Help

With a new website there are usually issues. Please help me out by going through the site and looking for bugs, broken links, and misspellings. If you find anything email me on the contact page or leave a comment on this post.

Also, While I was able to transfer the posts, comments, and outgoing links all incoming links from websites and social media are gone. Sharing some of your favorite posts on twitterfacebook, and google+ will help me out a lot.

What do you think of the new website?
