Highlights (06.18)

My first full week of self-employment has been a bit crazy. Scheduling myself, figuring out which projects to focus on, and working to have a “clock-out” time have been more difficult than I thought they would be. Setting goals and writing them down has helped a lot.

Working For A Bigger Purpose — Jon Gordon wrote a guest post at Michael Hyatt’s blog. It really puts things in perspective. “You may not build libraries around the world, but you can find the bigger purpose in reading to your children. You may not feed the homeless every day, but you can nourish your employees and customers with a smile, kind word, and care.”

Top Social Sites — Dustin explains what social sites everyone needs to be a part of, and how they can help small business.

Google Wallet — When I first heard of Google wallet I thought, “that’s dumb.” but after reading this article I’m starting to be swayed by the idea. If you plan to make money online you need to pay attention to this.

Android vs. iPhone? — Speaking of Google, this (slightly older) article explains why Google and Apple aren’t competing in the phone market. Anyone with a smart phone (or a business) should take the time to read through this article and really consider how it effects the way we think of Apps.

29 Ways to Stay Creative — To lighten the mood a bit, here’s a video with 29 ways to stay creative. How many have you tried?

Yup, I have definitely used at least 8 of them, but it would be interesting to incorporate more of them to see if they really do work out well.

Oh and nice list of articles from around the web.
