Highlights (08.20)

Very fun night yesterday. We had a “bring your favorite movie” night, drew from a hat, and saw some great stuff.

Is it possible to get an 850 FICO score? — A very interested blog about the impossibility of the FICO score.

Where is the methane? — It seems a lot of the models predicting global warming don’t pan out. What do we do when that happens? What if our biggest “contributor” isn’t contributing?

Never Good Enough — I wrote about this awhile ago, but I thought this blog hits the point well. There’s a gap between knowing what’s good and being able to produce good stuff. Persevere!

Racial Grievances — Are blacks commiting hate crimes against whites in some cities? Yes they are. Thomas Sowell comments on the media’s lack of attention to these hate crimes.

Texas Schools Aren’t So Bad — Although Arne Duncan wouldn’t agree, it looks like Texas schools are “average”. Not a great commendation for a country whose scores are pretty low.

I agree! The man is one of the best, most honest writers I have seen.
